Participants will learn how the Life Safety Code and the Code for Protection of Cultural Resource Properties can help you protect your patrons, staff, and facility. Instructor: Chris Soliz Chris Soliz is a Fire and Disaster Preparedness Consultant. He has been a firefighter and emergency management professional for 29 years and works with performing arts and cultural heritage organizations to develop comprehensive fire safety and preparedness programs. He has worked with government, private, and non-profit organizations to develop emergency response plans, command large-scale emergencies, manage special events, and coordinate resource management. Chris holds a master’s degree in emergency services management and is credentialed as an Incident Commander by the Department of Homeland Security. In his desire to ensure quality, and to focus his technical skill on cultural heritage protection, he has completed specialized studies through Leiden University, and the Institute of Disaster Mitigation for Urban Cultural Heritage, at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan.
